Zipp’s Story
Zipp mobility is a shared mobility operator and operates using e-bikes and e-scooters across Ireland, the UK, and the EU. Founded by Charlie Gleeson in 2019, Zipp mobility’s mission revolves around mobility done right, prioritising safety, sustainability, and a community-first approach.
The Problem
Zipp experienced rapid growth and with this came the increased importance of data privacy compliance. Operating in both the UK and across the EU, GDPR (and subsequently UK GDPR) compliance was a key concern for the business, especially as the number of users data they processed increased. However, during this time the team did not have its own in-house legal or compliance expertise that could advise on this topic and they were therefore spending a lot of time themselves trying to figure the legal jargon and data privacy regulations.
